A Note on This Beer
When I gaze into the rich, purple depths of The Oracle, I see the future. In that future, you’re savoring every puckeringly-tart sip of this foeder fermented Sour Ale from Anchorage Brewing.
You’re luxuriating in bold berry flavors from hand-picked wild blueberries and haskap berries as they shine through the sour base beer. You’re letting the finish linger to discover hints of wild, funky complexity, and just a touch of oak.
Now, you’re Googling ‘haskap berries’ and looking at pictures of this bizarre looking fruit that only grows way up in the far north. “Aha,” you think. “That’s where those strawberry and raspberry-like flavors come from! It’s all the haskap!”
Indeed, it is. These rarely seen bundles of joy taste like a mixed berry smoothie, all contained within a single purple-blue, teardrop-shaped fruit.
A bit later on, you’re sharing a bottle with a good friend. “Ever tried a beer made with haskap berries?” you ask. “It’s from Anchorage.” Your friend takes a sip, and their eyes light up as tart berry flavors explode across their palate. You both smile.
Sounds like a pretty good future, right? If you want it to become a reality, you’ll have to be quick — Anchorage beers never last long on Tavour.
