A Note on This Beer

I don’t know about you, but whenever I try making my own Michelada, I never seem to measure out the ingredients right, and my kitchen counters end up looking like a scene from Dexter. Fortunately, Colorado’s acclaimed* 4 Noses Brewing seems to have read my mind.

They teamed up with the Bloody Mary makers at The Real Dill to create a Michelada all set to go from the moment you crack open the can!

Today’s The Real Dill Michelada is a Pale Lager, brewed with whole serrano peppers, pickle brine, and fresh lime juice. Naturally, they also added in The Real Dill’s zesty, gently spiced bloody mary mix, made with real tomatoes.

I’m stocking up on a few of these bad boys just for the weekend. Hey, now that I don’t have to make it myself, I have more time to drink!

I’ve never had a Bloody Mary or Michelada so maybe that’s why I was not a fan of this brew. I could tell that it was a good quality beer, but the flavor was just not for me.

It is basically just what it describes. Heavy on the dill pickle, tomatoes are a little light but definitely there, peppers were good, lime was weird. Not my type of beer and I love bloody marys and redeyes. After about 1/3 of this, I wasn't sure I'd be able to finish the rest. It was interesting to try but I wouldn't buy another.

Very sweet and pickle forward. Definitely does not taste like a classic michelada and was not spicy enough

The notes of dill and of pickle juice in this beer are so incredible! I’ve never had a michelada in my life that I could taste the herbs used and the real flavor profile behind it. This beer delivers on an amazing front, it’s like a michelada with a splash of pickle juice, this stuff lives up to its name, it really is the real dill.

Hard to not rate something that angers my taste buds this much poorly, but it is what it’s described as so I knew what I was getting into. I don’t know that I would ever be able to accept these flavors because my brain did not enjoy smelling and tasting this thing at all.
