About This Beer
Aged 15 months in 8-12 year bourbon barrels with brewer’s licorice and cinnamon bark, this beast sings with layers of dark cocoa, star anise, and spice atop a finely-tuned oak and whiskey profile.
Tasting Notes
With the first sip, you’ll notice each element present in a thick, chewy mouthfeel full of dark chocolate, leather, raisins, molasses, and a touch of smoke. The 14.1% ABV is completely cloaked behind rich aromas of caramelized sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.

Smooth initial chocolate taste followed by subtle raisin/anise finish. The barrel-age quality cuts the sweetness very nicely.

This one was just about perfect for me. I’ve had Rusty Nails before, but the heaviness and licorice notes were hitting extra with this one. Super tasty stuff.
