About This Beer
I don’t want just any Stout — I want The Stout!
The GABF Gold medal-winners at Zipline Brewing made it for those of us who crave a more, shall we say, “adult” Stout. PorchDrinking.com calls it “the Stout that will make you sit back in your chair, nod slowly, and say ‘Yes. Ya done good, kid.’”
Because there’s no cake or cookies or sparkles cluttering up these black-as-night depths — just pure Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout mastery!
Tasting Notes
Each velvety sip boldly wakes the palate with complex notes of dark cherry, molasses, bittersweet chocolate, and traces of french roast coffee. A nap in Bourbon Barrels adds undertones of char and just a hint of salted caramel.

super good bba stout.

Pretty tasty overall, but nothing out of the ordinary. Just a well made bourbon barrel aged stout. Smooth, rich, and tasty with a bit of tart quality to it.

Boozy goodness. Nuff said.

Very well done. I wonder what a few years of aging will do for it.

Very barrel forward

Wow! A brilliant piece of art! An absolute dream.

This is a troublemaker! Perfect blend of bourbon flavor tied in with a hearty stout. For as big a beer as it, it goes down smooth. And then the 13.8% hits ya!

Busy with great nothing

A solid stout with big flavor. Would definitely recommend

This had a good thick bourbon flavor. It was just a bit too much for me. I admit to being a whimp.

Excellent and straightforward BA

Bold and rich, despite the complexity, makes this a delicious stout!

Really intense whiskey character, almost overwhelms the beer. Underlying stout comes out with a little warmth, rich and smooth, no tartness or ashiness

Pours very dark brown with an equally dark head. The head dissipates quickly but a leaves a nice tan ring. Aromas of earthy hops and caramel. Sweet malt dominates. Flavors of caramel, chocolate, roast, bourbon, and faint umami. Slight alcohol heat but not bad at all for. Nearly 14% beer. Sweetness lingers too long on the palate.

Completely flat, zero head, tastes strongly of raisins. Literally undrinkable, could not finish after a few sips, and made me feel sick.

99.9% of what a stout this style should be. Extremely tasty. Pure. I only wish it were a little thicker; that is my only gripe. Thank you, Zipline, for making this. Happy to find a BA Stout that isn’t made with donuts, French toast, candy, cookies, etc.

pretty decent! a little bit more dark fruit character than I want but decent flavors, with plenty of barrel and chocolate. tad thin. not bad.

An excellent beer. It is exactly as the name entails: a stout. Epitomizes the genre of the beer and enhances it by being barrel aged.

Smooth and well balanced. Dark chocolate, nice whiskey flavor and heat, subtle fruity tartness.

Very very good. Tastes like a cross between 2 different top notch barrel aged stouts I’ve had. Absolutely worth the money. Cherry, raisins, oak, dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, and STOUT.

Bourbon, rich, molasses, heavy

Lots of bourbon layered over the stout base. No subtlety here and no adjuncts, just stout and bourbon barrel aging.
