A Note on This Beer

My Dad was the s’mores KING.

First, he’d slowly roast the marshmallow to a seemingly air-brushed golden brown. Next, he’d carefully caramelize a dash of brown sugar on top of one graham cracker, then melt a piece of dark chocolate on the other.

All smooshed together, it was absolute campfire BLISS. And, honestly, until today’s Then You Roast the Mallow Imperial Stout, I didn’t think anything could beat it!

To craft their decadent brew-s’more, Perennial starts with real graham crackers in the mash, followed by toffee-like brown sugar, gooey marshmallow fluff, and silky lactose in the kettle.

After fermentation, they steep the already decadent Stout on even MORE graham crackers, marshmallows, and rich cacao nibs!

With each full-bodied taste, you’ll experience how these dark-brew experts delicately conjure all the flavors of an expertly crafted s’more, with an oaky complexity, and a 11.5% ABV kick!

This one deserves to be sipped and savored with those closest to you — I’ll be sharing with my Dad! Are you ready to dive into bonfire season with Perennial?

Vinepair and Paste Mag both call Perennial Artisan Ales one of the Best Breweries in America!

Tavour strictly supports independent beer. Perennial Artisan Ales is certified independent by the Brewers Association

Thick, very chocolatey, definitely has all the hints of tasting like a good s’more.

Good stout, not overly sweet at all. I don’t get any s’mores notes though. Somewhat surprising from Perennial but still a great stout

This stout was extremely boozy and it overwhelmed most of the other flavors on board. It hijacked the marshmallow flavor I was so looking forward to. You can taste it just getting cut out by this bitter strong alcohol taste. This drink flows velvety smooth from the ingredients, unfortunately all of the s’mores flavors just don’t really come out so strongly.

This flavor combo is exactly what I look for in a stout. Marshmallows galore! Perfect camping treat around a campfire. A summer stout, not too heavy, just enough sweetness but still refreshing. Mmm!

Very thick, super sweet and syrupy. Drank half a glass and couldn’t do anymore; too heavy and sweet for my liking. Needs some bitterness to balance it out.

Excellent stout. I love that it’s a stout first, with hints of the s’more flavors, but they’re not overpowering. If one wants a s’more, one should eat a s’more. Let’s not forget this is a beer folks. And a damn good one at that.

Lots of chocolate, hints of cookie, you can taste the creaminess of the marshmallows. Really well done an excellent stout!

Fantastic aromas. A very easy drinking stout with very accurate flavors and possibly the closest flavor of marshmallow (s’mores in general) I’ve had in a stout that didn’t taste like it was imitation. The vanilla and cocoa nibs really come through well. The only negative is that as you continue to drink, the alcohol really begins to wear you down and you can really feel it.

Thin and not sweet enough. Sort of bitter. I expected more from Perennial and guess I’ll have to stick with their expensive (and incredible) Abraxas beer instead.

Nice brown sugar and cacao flavors at the front. Marshmallow flavor is subtle, but helps cut the bitterness at the end.

Fun desert stout, a great try if you can find it. Gets sweeter as it warms and you can really start to taste the marshmallow...

One of the better s'mores stouts out there. Really excellent, rich chocolate stood out for me on this one. Very smooth.
