About This Beer
The brewers at Varietal spent more than 2 years crafting a variety of wine barrel aged Wild Ales. Then, they carefully combined the barrels, and referemented the blend on lightly crushed, locally harvested Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Bordeaux grapes.
Tasting Notes
Vinous notes lead off every sip, particularly from the Syrah, which lends notes of bright raspberry and a subtle black pepper spiciness. Hints of strawberry and rhubarb frolic in the background, along with subdued funky flavors from wild yeast.
