A Note on This Beer
In 2014, Alex Liberati packed his bags and relocated from Italy to Denver. With a dream of opening his own restaurant and brewery, he brought a love of authentic Italian flavors and, above all, beer!
Oenobeer, to be exact (it’s pronounced “EN-O-beer”), has up to 49% of its fermentable grains swapped out for grapes. If this is your introduction to the style, boy are you in for a treat.
Because Denver’s Black Project — a.k.a. one of the Top 50 Microbreweries in the World on Untappd — teamed up with Alex to craft today’s succulent Oenobeer, THUNDERBOLT!
With a spontaneously fermented base and hefty doses of juiced Pinot Gris grapes, this tangy sipper toes the line between a Wild Ale and a fine, dry wine. Or, as the folks at Black Project say, “so freakin’ fancy.”
Each sip brims with notes of tangy citrus, floral white wine notes and a delicate layer of earthy funk. Let it linger on the tongue, and you’ll notice the flavors deepen with touches of oak. Fancy indeed!
I’ll be straight with you — we only have 60 bottles, and it’s so limited most people in Denver won’t even get a shot at it. Grab yours now to be among the few to get a taste.
This beer is too new for ratings!
