About This Beer

Pecan pie is a real treat. Sure, apple and cherry confections are tasty, too. But when you smell the sticky-sweet, nutty southern delicacy cooling off before dinner, you know it’s a special occasion.

I feel the same way seeing Bottle Logic’s solera-style barrel-aged Barleywine Time Bending at the center of the table!

Tasting Notes

The California craft crew aged the brew in Heaven Hill, Willett, and Rittenhouse Rye casks through 2019, 2020, and 2021. Their patience paid off as the barrels imparted a decadent blend of gooey molasses, silky vanilla, and rich caramel flavors. Combined with the addition of roasted pecans, it’s like indulging in the delectable caramelization from the top of the pie!

Baking spices bolster each pour with a ‘fresh out of the oven’ aroma, imbuing every shared glass with the warm feeling of friendship and tradition. And with a 13.5% ABV, the merriment is just a few sips away!

Nice silky body smooth with good boozy BW taste. Spices are not that overpowering. Sweetness is typical malty caramel BW.

The maple pecan, bourbon, figs, chocolate, nutmeg, and fudge are all present, but it’s a touch too boozy to really fall in love. Great representation of a pecan pie, just hard to have a more than a few sips

Pecan pie is there, although not as thick as you'd think. This is a very tasty barleywine however. This is a holiday beer for sure.

Big disappointment. I get a hint of pecans, a bit of barrel heat in the finish, in between is just a cloyingly sweet mess. this tastes like sugar was dumped into it afteer fermentation process.

one of my more fav bottle logic #bil. tastes of old leather, oak, the pecan pie element brings a well balanced sweetness. the nose is very inviting

it has a very barrel aged taste. it's pretty sugary,and soy sauce ish, it doesn't taste too much like pecan pie. I think that, you get more of a taste of pecan pie if you make it foam in your mouth.

Spices I've never tasted in a beer. Beautifully executed, sweet without anything overpowering. Pecan flavor sneaks in toward the end
