A Note on This Beer
Back in the 90’s, everyone had a lot more hair — myself included. I used to mousse my mane up so much, I would’ve made Richard Gere jealous. Now, well . . . let’s just say my ears perk up when I hear a Rogaine commercial.
Tony, the owner of Champp’s restaurant in Wisconsin, can probably relate. He’s the well-coiffed inspiration for today’s 4.29 UT-Rated New England IPA, Tony Had Hair in the 90s.
The brewmasters at Eagle Park created this incredibly soft and citrus-laced sipper for their Hazy-lovin’ buddy, and now they’re sharing it with you.
And, unlike my own less-than-luscious locks, there’s nothing balding about this brew. It gushes with notes of juicy mangoes, lychees, lemons, and tangerines from a heaping 8 lbs of Citra and Motueka Hops per barrel. The brewers dry hopped it twice so there’s not even a whisper of bitterness in the batch. We’re talking straight juice, baby.
Locals are slurping up this hazebomb faster than Mellow Yellow. @Eric B. calls it “straight fire” and @jesse m. says, it’s “my favorite Eagle Park IPA that I’ve tried. Nicely done!”
Eagle Park’s small batch brews rarely leave the midwest, and they only brew this double dry-hopped Hazy once a year. So, you may want to stock up now, before it becomes like Tony’s mullet — just a distant memory.
