About This Beer
Today’s Porter spent months aging in Buffalo Trace barrels, luxuriating in boozy brown sugar notes. Then the brewers stowed it away for five years, allowing the smoky, bourbon-y nuances to mellow into a smooth sipper.
Tasting Notes
A pitch-black pour releases rich aromas of Godiva-drizzled dates and figs. The silky dram reveals expressions of bittersweet dark cocoa and mocha swirling into whispers of honeycomb. As it warms, depths of caramelized oak and vanillins come out of the woodwork, rounding out the finish with lingering toffee tones and a kiss of Kentucky’s finest.

Ehh, having tried this over 6 years after it was bottled, the flavors are quite muted. Would have loved to have tried freshly bottled as it didn't age in an ideal way.

Pretty good, a little too much bourbon for my taste.

Not especially noteworthy, but a solid BA porter all the same.
