If you aren’t yet familiar with North Carolina’s Fonta Flora, I recommend getting to know them quickly, before their beer geek fans drink up our entire stash of today’s Torches Mixed Culture Saison.

• The brewery has won multiple GABF Gold Medals.
• Bloomberg chose a Fonta Flora brew as one of their 11 Best Beers of last year! 
• And, on my last trip to North Carolina, every craft enthusiast I met urged me to try their Saisons and Wild Ales.

One of the most memorable beers of that entire beer-soaked trip was Torches.

It’s a truly special collab between founder Todd Boera and his fiancé, who specializes in wildcrafting botanical blends. They based this Saison around her signature ‘moon’ blend. It’s a relaxing mix of toasted lavender, nettles, mullen, and lemon balm.

When paired with Fonta Flora’s mixed culture yeast, it transforms into one of the brewery’s taproom favorites.

Local fan @Sofie N. says its “sweet lemon, a little fruity, ingredients make me feel like a woodland witch.”

@Chase A. calls it out as “Tart, herbal, and cinnamon!”

And @Jay G. “loves the balance of flavors.”
