A Note on This Beer
For decades, Belgian beer lovers would travel to the preserved Medieval town of Bruges, and get lost amongst its alcoves and cobblestone streets, all to savor one very famous beer: The peach and honey-nectar smoothness of the De Garre 11% ABV Tripel Ale.
Once a secret kept by only the most devoted of Belgian connoisseurs, this lavished Tripel finally left the confines of this alleyway pub and immediately became one of the highest-rated Belgian Ales of all time:
It’s the #3 Tripel on BeerAdvocate - rising up two spots in just 6 months!
Untappd users score it a marvelous 4.15 with over 11,000 ratings
Tavour members agree, scoring it 4.21 - making it perhaps the highest rated Tripel we’ve ever shared.
De Garre develops intense dessert fruit flavors by doubling the amount of malts used in typical Tripels. This increases the ABV to a mouth buzzing 11% ABV while amplifying the style’s signature lemon cream and candied stonefruit elegance. You’ll even taste more fruit notes than usual, including honeycrisp apples, golden raisins, and hints of flambeed bananas. The towering ABV keeps this model Belgian crisp and dry, almost Champagne-like in the finish.
Like watching Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now, reading On the Road, or hearing Thelonious Monk’s “Straight, No Chaser” for the first time, sipping on De Garre’s Tripel is a life-changing masterpiece from a virtuoso in its field. Once you drink it, you’ll never look at other Belgian Ales the same way.
