A Note on This Beer
Recently at Tavour we had an in-depth discussion, trying to remember when we last had a really excellent Gose; it feels like it’s been months. Craving their refreshingly tart and salty flavors, we were all on high alert: track down a killer new Gose ASAP.
A few days later we received an email from our Beer Seeker: “Guys, I’m down in Texas and stumbled upon this crowded-ass taproom at Martin House Brewery. The Gose is the most popular style they brew here, and they have a Raspberry one called True Love that’s blowing my mind right now.”
Martin House has five versions of True Love and the series averages over 4.0 on Untappd. Nice!
We immediately ordered some samples so we could all have a taste.
Juicy, tangy Texas Red Raspberries holler at the nose like a friendly neighbor. Subtle sea salt embrace the berries just long enough to savor notes of sweet-tart jam spread over a toasted soft pretzel. Then, with an effervescent seltzer-like spritz, the finish fades off the back of the tongue tart and refreshingly clean.
Looks like we found exactly what we were looking for, and we can’t wait to share this lovely Sour with all of you. And man, if True Love Raspberry is any indicator, we predict many more big things to come from Martin House in 2018.
