A Note on This Beer
Citrusy, passionfruit-soaked Riwaka Hops are the “great white buffalo” for a lot of brewers. Many fall in love at first taste, only to have an incredibly tough time getting their hands on them.
Turns out, the highly aromatic hop varietal is challenging to grow, and it’s only available in limited quantities. Even in its native New Zealand!
Still, Riwaka Hops contain nearly double the average amount of alpha acids and essential oils — the stuff that makes your beer taste and smell so darn good!
And, today might be one of the only chances you ever get to try these hops on full display. Anchorage Brewing captured this great white buffalo!
Brewed with a backing of Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin Hops, today’s Riwaka-filled TURNED DDH IPA is a hugely flavorful, 8.4% ABV delicacy for your senses.
Bright bursts of freshly sliced citrus greet you on the nose, while passionfruit and ruby red grapefruit dance together in thick juice on the tongue. You’ll probably suck down the first lush mouthful too fast, so let the second one linger for notes of kumquats, tangerines, and white grapes.
Just grab it quick! We don’t know when (or if) we’ll get another IPA stash with this great white buffalo-of-a-hop again.
