About This Beer

I can honestly say I’ve never seen or tasted Blonde quite like this!

For starters, it’s a Blonde in style alone –– this beauty pours a gorgeous midnight hue. Secondly, the adventurous Eastern Market crew brewed it with toasted coconut and ube!

I’m gonna be honest and say that before this brew, I hadn’t even heard of ube. Turns out it’s a purple yam with a sweet, mellow flavor that’s like a cross between white chocolate, vanilla, and pistachio!

Tasting Notes

Every sip brims with a rich, softly earthy flavor. It’s like a subtly sweet yam casserole topped with gooey marshmallow, pistachio, and layered with decadent coconut.

My wife is Filipino….so naturally we have lots of ube around the house…this blonde ale was freaking delicious. Earthy ube dominates throughout with a nice coconut touch. Like an ube treat without a ton of sweetness.

Drain pour. The Ube flavor is good but this thing is one of the most bitter beers I’ve ever tasted, you can’t get the aftertaste out of your mouth.

this beer had a lot of potential, but it’s ultimately undrinkable. the coconut and ube are both very present and flavorful, but for some reason, it’s just extremely bitter.

The “bitter” taste isn’t for some but this came of more roasty with a sweet finish, I enjoyed it!

Not gonna lie, it’s a little underwhelming. There’s a decent hit of toasted coconut and maybe just a hint of ube, but other than the cool purple hue, there’s not a ton happening here other than the fairly bitter finish. Interesting sure, but not great.

Nasty. Tasted like coconut dusted dirt, bitter on the tongue with steady hints of stale garbage. The Tavour description was complete bullshit (sweet, etc...).

Wasn’t expecting to like this one after some lower reviews, but it wasn’t terrible. different taste for sure. At first sip, it had a sunscreen taste, but a few more sips it dulled down.

I hate to give bad ratings especially on what could be an interesting beer. this one has a great color from the ube. I love ube I’ve cream and thought it would go well with coconut. this was just not good though. it was way too bitter and I couldn’t handle drinking it. let a bad taste in my mouth.

Wow, this really surprised me! Tastes like fresh coconut in a light carbonated base. The coconut is not even overpowering like it can be. Great beer!

Aside from the beautiful purple hue, both the nose and body have a nice touch of lightly toasted coconut. There is an earthy bitterness in the aftertaste from the ube which may not be to all tastes, but I didn’t find it overwhelming or off-putting.
