A Note on This Beer
If you flew all the way to San Diego and asked Abnormal Beer Co. for a bottle of today’s 10.7% ABV Unification Imperial Stout, you’d be out of luck.
This one-time release sold out in less than 10 hours on release day! That’s impressive, even for one of the Brewers Association’s Fastest-Growing Breweries of 2019!
Luckily, the brewers tipped me off about this luscious, nutty-chocolate candy bar brew and I hauled ass down to San Diego to grab the last handful of cases!
It’s the 1 lb of cacao nibs, 10 lbs of coconut, and 7 ½ lbs of crushed hazelnuts in each barrel of this decadent Stout that caused me to scramble down the entire West Coast for a taste. That, and the craft-sphere called this “THE Abnormal beer of the year.”
For this coveted bottle, the brewers let their hand-selected “Ambassadors” take the wheel to select both the style and ingredients.
The bold brewers then executed the will of the people by crafting today’s boozy, oak-touched, chocolatey elixir of a Stout. One sip of its malty-sweet goodness sends your taste buds swimming in ooey-gooey heaven.
It’ll be tough to stop sipping once you start, but try to pause and toast yourself at least once. After all, you’re among the lucky few outside SoCal to even get a chance at this brew!
And if you’re feeling generous, call up a Stout-loving friend and ask ‘em to hurry over and join you for a taste. Hey, it’s called Unification after all!
This beer is too new for ratings, but early Untappd check-ins are all 4+.
