A Note on This Beer
A lot of my beer buddies won’t give Ciders a try because “they’re too sweet.” I keep telling them that traditional Ciders are anything but!
Today’s Unified Press is an excellent example. It’s crisp and clean, and capped off with a subtle, natural sweetness that’s positively refreshing.
The apple aficionados at Vermont’s Citizen Cider crafted this tangy quencher with 100% locally-sourced apples, all pressed in-house. Its tiny touch of sweetness is strictly powered by natural fructose — no concentrate or added sugar, whatsoever.
Scents of apples and white wine dominate the aroma, teasing the off-dry flavors of fresh-pressed juice that wait in the light and bubbly pour. It’s a no-frills taste of why Vermont locals are so into Citizen’s traditional take on Ciders.
The readers of Seven Days Vermont even named Citizen Cider the state’s Best Hard Cidery 7 years in a row!
You might think of every Cider as just another cloying apple brew, like my buddies do. But, I’ll bet that — like them — you just haven’t tasted one from Citizen Cider yet. Now’s your chance!
