A Note on This Beer
“Holy moly, this is glorious… that caramelly taste is lovely.” @Katie W.
“Wow!!! Really good. Boozy and vanilla.” @Jay C.
“Awesome. Like an IBC Cream Soda for adults.” @BigJon
Today’s brew from the Texas titans at Martin House is a delicious rarity for a number of reasons:
- Their brew crew started with a full-bodied, malty Imperial Blonde base, aged it in whiskey barrels for 4.5 months, then conditioned it on vanilla beans. The result is a rushing current of luscious soft serve bolstered by deep, oaky whiskey that mellows into a rich, caramel note before a soft vanilla finish.
- You won’t find a drop of Vanilla Skies outside of the Lone Star State. Unless you’re planning a trip to Texas, the only way you’re gonna get a sumptuous sip of this smooth, crème brûlée is to hit “Get It.”
- These brews come in twos! Each box includes two 12 oz cans, so you can share these Skies. But, we have less than 360 beer float-ready boxes, so you’d better click quick!

First of all, the aroma is about the best I have ever experienced. The taste is slightly sweet, but very, very tasty

different and tastes good

Wood, vanilla and a bit of booze on the nose. Lots of whiskey on the palate with notes of dried fig and vanilla ice cream. A bit of boozy burn towards the end with a sweet, syrupy finish. This one is real nice.

one of the best blondes I’ve ever tasted. very vanilla, not overly sweet. definitely crushably smooth. my first one was gone before I even knew it. I bought 4, but wish I’d bought 44!

Deep caramel notes in "dark" imperial blonde ale, it's a VERY nice brew that I could envision becoming a beer fridge staple. Excellent

Nice vanilla taste with boozy flavor from the whiskey barrels.

This is like a big glass of butterscotch, rich and deep and unctuous. Truly a great dessert beer. The booze and the sweetness are there, but neither go over the top. My first non-sour Martin House beer is a real winner.

Really cool beer. Would definitely get again sometime as a treat. Vanilla cuts nicely through a very boozy beer.

The sweetness of the vanilla helps to cut through the strength and burn of the whiskey barrel aging, and makes it a lovely drink to sip on throughout an evening. It was a little bit thinner in mouthfeel than I was expecting, but that allows for a smoothness and approachability which prevents it from becoming too overwhelming.
