Today’s 2019 vintage is extra special — the brew spent time in 100% Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels, soaking up nuances of molasses and oaky vanilla. Then, it spent another two years in the bottle in Firestone Walker’s carefully climate-controlled cellar. 

The extra time away from public grasp deepened the Stout’s notes of dark chocolate, toffee and coffee. It’s even smoother and fudgier now than it was on its initial release!

Still, Firestone Walker carefully crafts their Barrel-Aged Stouts so they can age up to 10 years. While it’s perfectly understandable if you can’t resist indulging in Velvet Merkin 2019’s dessert-rich complexity now, you can also stash one away for an even more luxurious tasting experience later on.
