A Note on This Beer
PorchDrinking.com’s Barry Barz recalls today’s Triple Dry-Hopped Double IPA as the beer that made him finally feel at home after his move to Charlotte, North Carolina:
“I have since ventured out and enjoyed many other styles and breweries in Charlotte, but it was that first sip of Vicky Virago at Resident Culture that made [the transition from Brooklyn], one smooth landing. I had arrived.”
I myself live in Seattle, but I’m inclined to agree with Barry. Every sip of this Galaxy, Citra, and Mosaic-Hopped quencher has a grounding feel to it, no matter where you find yourself drinking it.
Soothing citrus and mango aromas spill out the moment you crack open the can, leading to pleasant flavors of orange, ruby red grapefruit and bountiful dank pine on the finish. Plus, it’s so pillowy and sippable, it’s hard to believe it packs an 8% ABV!
But the only places you can normally get your hands on this Charlotte staple are the Tar Heel State itself and, occasionally, some spots in Virginia. Once our tiny stash runs out, who knows when we’ll be able to get a hookup on this hoppy homecoming again!
