About This Beer
The brewers took at Revolution took a batch of their OG Gravedigger Billy (rated a sky-high 4.31 on the app!) and tucked it away in some very special barrels. We’re talking Eagle Rare, Elijah Craig, and Whistlepig!
Tasting Notes
Look for the original’s flavors of toffee, pipe tobacco, dried figs, and leather, now made even more delicious by accents of top shelf booze! Notes of caramel, date, and charred oak should all be present, and we’ll definitely be looking for a ribbon of oaky vanilla to wrap up the finish.

I'm going to go put on a kilt and send my foes to The Otherworld. Fierce, boozy deliciousness with toffee and malts with notes of syrupy bourbon.

Most breweries emphasize “barrel aged” by completely over oaking their beer. Not true here. The Scotch ale and barrel aging are perfectly balanced. A rare find indeed!

I like beer. I love Scotch. I have learned I don’t really prefer them together.

Revolution’s barrel aging is just so consistently stellar. Rich, deep and full bodied barrel flavors just pull all the best qualities of a scotch ale forward. Loved this one.

Nose - a bit overoaked with touch of vanilla and spices.
Taste - dried raisins covered in semi sweet chocolate, hint of molasses and Ukrainian uzvar. Long lasting unsweetened cocoa finish complemented by all the notes you can get from a Scottish ale.
The finest BA Scottish ale I've had so far, great complexity for the style.

I actually liked this one and I'm not usually one for barrel aged, especially not bourbon barrel. very roasty and malty but with that boozy/syrupy finish. I only had a taste so it might have been hard for me to finish if I drank the whole thing. just personal preference.
