A Note on This Beer
“Ok, wow. Powerful! Intensely flavorful and rich without being heavy or boozy. Absolutely delicious!” @deGleep on Untappd
He's not alone — early tasters are scoring today's brew a luscious 4.22 on UT!
You won't see many check-ins for Dwinell Country Ales’ Waiting Game Blackberry Farmhouse Ale, though. The Wild Sour specialists sent us the majority of the batch, and it’s only 117 bottles!
To fully appreciate the ripe berry deliciousness that you'll experience, you need to know the journey the brewery went through to craft it.
First off, the brewers selected a delicate blend of grain from the award-winning Mecca Grade Estate Malt in Madras, Oregon.
Then, they trekked a few miles into Cornelius, Oregon, for local Obsidian blackberries (one of the most sought-after varieties in the world because of their plump juiciness).
Finally, they blended this Wild Farmhouse Ale with the berries and naturally refermented it in Oak Barrels before bottle conditioning to the beer’s funked-out, fruity prime.
Bottom line: Dwinell endured a meticulous, timely process so that a few of you lucky Sour fans can get an authentic taste of blackberries straight from the farm.
