Needless to say, today’s Mead isn’t just honey wine. It’s a Melomel — meaning it’s fruited — specifically with black currants. Technically, that makes this Melomel a “Black Mead.”

Garagiste crafted Water “Blue Label” with jammy black raspberries and juicy Wild Treasure blackberries –– a hybrid blackberry/marionberry bred in Oregon –– for bushels of lush bramble berry flavor. 

Finally, they aged it in Slovakian Oak for a drier, tarter elixir with a luscious body like a full red wine.

The tangy black fruit makes for a rich, dark pour brimming with berry aromas. Each smooth sip swims in sweet-tart flavors complimented by tannic oak notes and an untraceable 11.9% ABV.
