A Note on This Beer
Back in 2012, the Wall Street Journal reported that some serious maple fiends stole about $30 million worth of maple syrup from Canada’s syrup reserves in Quebec (seriously, we are not making this up!).
That’s a whole lotta sticky gold! If any of you maple fiends out there are plotting your own liquid larceny, listen up!
We might not have a syrupy stockpile worth millions, but we do have today’s hyper-limited Waves of Silence, Codename: Capsize from Oregon’s Fort George!
Loaded with 55 gallons of Vermont maple syrup and 600 lbs of toasted coconut, it’s almost like these Dark Beer experts swiped all the syrup for you, and intercepted a whole boatload of Mounds bars to boot!
And you can’t even steal this 9% ABV Imperial Stout anywhere. Only a handful of Northwest bottleshops even got it, and most of them are already sold out. If you want to get a taste of this small batch treat from the Oregon Beer Award Winners at Fort George, the only place to find it is right here.
Capsize tastes like a coconut maple bar dunked in a roasty, chocolatey mocha. Waves of dark chocolate carry a flood of syrup across the taste buds. Then look for toasty coconut and coffee with a hint of char. The big ABV is totally hidden behind a wall of flavor.
If you’re looking to get desserty, you don’t have to go all Danny Ocean on a maple shipment. Just pick up a few bottles of Capsize, invite over a few of your closest drinkin’ buds, and prepare to enjoy life’s sweeter side.
