A Note on This Beer
I feel bad for Wednesday. For decades, the poor mid-week marker has earned a variety of unflattering monikers:
- There was “Lousy Wednesday,” courtesy of John Steinbeck, who I’m guessing was really more of a weekend kinda dude.
- “TGIAT” or “Thank God It’s Almost Thursday,” according to the internet folks, who have collectively decided to ignore the day altogether.
- Then, the iconic and everlasting “Hump Day,” which, aside from its slightly sexual undertones, is probably the most forgiving.
I think it’s high time we give Wednesday a new nickname: Beersday.
Just think — next week, when your coworker nudges you in the side and says, “Hump Day, am I right?” you can say, “no, Jim, it’s Beersday.”
And then pour him a taste of today’s Wednesday 2019 Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout. Its layers of jammy, chocolate-covered raspberry goodness will really shut him up.
This decadent palate-pleaser comes from the Barrel-Aging experts at Florida’s Cycle Brewing.
They focus almost exclusively on slumbering Dark Beers, and their prowess for flavor-packed sippers earned them a massive 4.21 UT brewery-rating.
But unless you spend a lot of time down in Florida, the only way you’re gonna get your hands on this booze-tiful brew is right here.
Show up to your mid-week Happy Hour with a bottle of this 11% ABV raspberry-soaked sipper and you’ll be the first to introduce your colleagues to the uplifting powers of these Dark Beer masters.
Pop the top on this lip-smacking brew and aromas of raspberry compote and rich chocolate ganache come flooding out. Aging for over 12 months in top-shelf Bourbon Barrels imparts notes of whiskey spice and oaky vanilla that mingle with the jammy fruit.
Hints of woody char and roasted espresso swirl around waves of bright and fruity raspberry juice, coaxing sip after sip. And I’ll bet that after a few tastes of today’s beer, it won’t be long before your colleagues are clinking glasses and shouting, “Cheers to Beersday!”
But don’t go sharing too much. We have the only cases of Wednesday 2019 leaving Florida and you never know when you’ll need a rich, chewy, dark chocolate treat to cure the Wednesday Willies.
