A Note on This Beer

My grandparents used to grow raspberries in their garden. I’d spend my summers chomping down on those tart, juicy treats straight from the vine!

So, when I heard my friends at Standard Brewing created a Wild Ale aged on real raspberries, I got on the phone and called dibs on as many as they could spare.

Which was only 40 cases.

I’m pumped to share this with a few of you lucky Tavour members, because the brewers created Weeping Hand from a top-secret blend of aged Wild Ales. Then, to pack in all that juicy flavor, they let it soak for months on a truckload of those little, pink berries.

Each sip of this fuschia-colored brew captures the lovable tangy, summer-soaked flavors of sunkissed raspberries. Smooth jamminess envelops the tongue with balanced sweetness. And, even better now that I’m an adult, it sports a 6.2% ABV!

So, when you’re ready to get your Wild Ale pucker on, Standard has you covered.

Raspberry, floral forward, not sweet with that wild fermented taste. Should’ve bought 2!

Completely forgot that this was a wild ale until I started pouring and saw the deep red of the beer. Gorgeous coloring and you cannot miss the raspberry with this one. I definitely should have gotten 2 but I enjoyed every delicious drop.

The mouthfeel was extra tart and the aftertaste brought me back to the wild yeast beers of Belgium

Raspberry is really light compared to what I was expecting to taste. It also tasted a little carbonated. But as it warmed, I felt like the flavor start to really brighten & it gained a tarty punch plus a nice layer of sweetness.

Beautiful and delicious wild ale with the perfect amount of raspberries. Mostly sour with a hint of sweetness from the fruit.
