I don’t care one bit that 1997’s Space Jam was a total money grab from both Hollywood and the NBA – it worked! And, ultimately, it led to the real reason I’ve got the song on replay today: the PB&J-inspired Berliner Weisse, Welcome to the Space Jam!

My hat goes off to the half-crazed, half-geniuses who decided to team Michael Jordan up with Bugs Bunny. But I’m especially in awe of the masterminds at Celestial Beerworks down in Dallas, Texas for crafting this silky-tart taste of lunchtime heaven. 

Those crafty brewers slam-dunked this Berliner Weisse’s tart base with a full, jammy spread – blueberry, strawberry, blackberry, and raspberry! They also added creamy peanut butter and oats to give it a thick mouthfeel, reminiscent of the actual PB&J sammies you pulled out of your Looney Tunes lunchbox back in the day. 

Even more impressive, this is the first beer ever from Celestial Beerworks on Tavour, and their small-batch beers NEVER leave the Dallas area! So, unlike that family movie that everyone’s seen, very few have actually gotten a taste of Welcome to the Space Jam.

Time to grab a glass and crank up the ‘90s nostalgia. You know the words:
