About This Beer
The Weizenbock can best be described as a beautiful amalgamation of two beloved German brews — the Weissbier and the Doppelbock. Like the Weissbier, Weizenbocks contain at least 50% wheat malts and a top-fermenting weiss yeast. But, they also have the deep malty flavors we love in robust Doppelbocks. It’s rare to find this style of wheat beer because it’s notoriously difficult to brew. But who better to take on the challenge than Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø from Evil Twin — a man Forbes once called “a craft beer Anthony Bourdain.”
Tasting Notes
Rivers of doughy wheat bread run alongside subtle ripples of ripe banana and plum notes. An elegant kiss of spicy clove on the backend brings all the flavors together, and makes these light-bodied brew feel extremely drinkable — even with its bold 7.75% ABV!
