About This Beer
At first glance it looks like a fairly typical Wit — the brewers started with a base of wheat and enhanced it with carefully considered additions of coriander and orange peel. But when you look a little deeper, this is a brew all it’s own!
The crew at Cellador specialize in barrel-fermented beers. In fact, everything they make spends time in oak, and this Wit is no exception. As a result, the bright citrus notes and tingle of spice from the adjuncts swim through an entirely different kind of body than you might expect.
It’s tart, tangy, maybe even puckering!
Tasting Notes
It’s tart, tangy, maybe even puckering! Nuances of bretty funk and a ripple of lemongrass accentuate a slight pithiness from the orange. Trickles of coriander flow throughout, tempering the acidity while highlighting rustic, biscuity flavors in the body. Naturally conditioning with honey creates a tingly effervescence reminiscent of champagne.
