A Note on This Beer
It’s true what they say: sometimes you really should stop and smell the roses.
Especially if the blossom in question is today’s Wooden Rose Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout. This stuff smells like whiskey, caramel, and vanilla! After getting a whiff, I’m convinced that all roses should smell this delicious!
I have half a mind to wander into my neighbor’s garden and drizzle bourbon all over the flowers, but they’d probably get upset. So instead, I’ll just hang out on the porch sipping and smelling the scrumptious flavors of Revision Brewing’s latest release!
After 16 months slumbering in 4 Roses Bourbon Barrels this decadent brew tastes like a fudgy brownie smeared with a whiskey-caramel reduction. Subtle notes of allspice and hints of clove appear on the finish, alongside a whisper of oaky barrel char. And, it finishes dangerously smooth for a brew that tips the scales at a belly warming 13.25% ABV.
With so much complex flavor to explore in every sip, this beer might just inspire you to slow down a little bit. To appreciate the little things. To stop and smell the Wooden Roses.
Revision was named Nevada Brewery of the Year at the 2019 New York International Beer Competition!
