About This Beer
Mammoths are back in Detroit, thanks to Eastern Market! But don’t worry, the brewers aren’t about to Jurassic Park the Ice Age — Woolly is their crisp, hoppy, cold-fermented IPA.
The crew crafted this pleasing pachyderm on bones of Pilsner malt and torrefied wheat — a process that allows the brewers to get a smooth wheaty depth and feel, with a neutral flavor for showcasing other ingredients. Like its impressive coat of Citra Hops.
Tasting Notes
Nuances of shaggy citrus charge through each sip, trumpeting notes of grapefruit and bitter orange. The dank, earthy tones of overripe melon and tropical passionfruit march toward a lingering finish of subtle sweetness and aromatic orange.
But this hugely hoppy 6% ABV sipper is light on its feet, pouring as clean and refreshing as a glacial stream.
