A Note on This Beer
When I saw the brewers at New Image had teamed up with the Sour connoisseurs at Black Project to craft today’s citrus-soaked sipper, I went a little berserk.
What can I say? USA Today named New Image one the 10 Best New Breweries of 2018, and The Colorado Sun placed them among the state’s best breweries. Forbes even dubbed them one of the fastest growing breweries in the country!
Take that dexterous team, and pair them with the brewery the Denver Post named Editor’s Pick: Colorado Brewery of the Year? Voila! We’ve got ourselves a beer-brainchild so full of sumptuous, piña colada-like hopjuice, lucky early sippers are already calling it a “total home run.”
To start, this top-notch brew crew used a finished Black Project Sour Ale to adjust the pH in the kettle, and sour the wort (reducing bitterness, and ultimately, enhancing the quality of the beer). Then, they used a hefty double dry-hopping of Citra, El Dorado, and Motueka Hops to conjure hugely flavorful bursts of pineapple, papaya, and mango — all wrapped up in a mouthfeel softer than a puppy’s ears.
Yes, Worse Things Have Happened in 2020. But, GREAT things have happened too. Like, scoring a one-of-a-kind stash of today’s New Image x Black Project haze!
