About This Beer
With Barrier’s Ze German series, the crew produced some old school brews built for proper Rhineland Beer Halls, for modern drinkers! Their take on the Schwarzbier is loaded with German Malt and Hops for a refreshing yet roasty drink that practically goes in a boot!
Tasting Notes
At the start, each quaff of this Rhineland-style gud bier fills the palate with flavors of espresso and baker’s spice from German-sourced malt. Those fresh-from-the-cafe flavors swirl with floral refreshment and aromas from German Hops. And since the beer is also carefully lagered, you’ll get all the complex flavors of malt and hop with an easygoing finish!

Overall, a really smooth black lager. Plenty of dark roast flavor without being overly sweet or bitter.

Another totally drinkable, solid schwarz. Not super special, but the more of these I drink, the more I’m wondering if there are any ways to elevate the style.

Tasty roasty malts that provided enough backbone to go with a smoky red pepper pasta sauce.
