About This Beer
The brewers crafted this Strong Ale by blending two different brews — an Imperial Stout aged for 26 months in a ruby port butt, and a Barleywine aged 43 months in Four Roses bourbon barrels! That’s nearly six years on oak altogether, and while we haven’t tasted it yet, we expect spectacular results.
Tasting Notes
Look for flavors of dark chocolate, roasty coffee, and sweet raisin. Hints of date and toffee should play nicely with vinous notes from the port barrel, while nuances of caramel, vanilla, and whiskey reflect the time spent mingling with bourbon. The massive 17% ABV will certainly warm your belly, but you’ll barely taste it behind a curtain of mocha, dark cherry, and a touch of char.

really good but not worth the high price tag. Actually smells better than the taste and you can smell it in the room. does taste smooth for 17% not hot

definite hints of port when letting it sit on the pallet. then transforms to a finish of bourbon. very excellent.

Meh. It's like there's too much happening and nothing stands out.

favors those that like port barrel-aging. smooth and easy to drink. I don’t know why Equilibrium doesn’t print their abv on the bottle, but if it’s truly 17%, it’s a top-tier beer.

Extremely dark, and reasonably thick. Hint of raisin on the back end. Smooth and easy to drink for such a dark beer.

too much port barrel taste and not enough bourbon and chocolate flavor.
