About This Beer
The can says Cider of the Month, but it’s a timeless classic – Ash & Elm made Jerry Thomas’ classic Old Fashioned, styled as a Cider!
Like the cornerstone cocktail, they brought out the fancy glassware and got the best swivel spoons out for stirring. They started with their tart cherry cider base. Then aged it in West Fork Whiskey Barrels, before finishing it on real, fresh orange zest.
Tasting Notes
The strength of the whiskey oak and bourbon kicks off the sip with a tongue-tingling buzz, evolving into a lip smacking cherry splash. On the finish, a light hint of orange citrus flavor washes the tart and belly-warming notes with a delightful hint of pith.

Good, though I’d have never guessed the “Old Fashioned” flavor combo just by taste alone.

I have enjoyed my share of old fashioneds and although it may be trying to emulate that flavor it falls short. I will say that it was an enjoyable example of a sweeter semi dry cider and that the apple
overpowers the added flavors.

Good cider…not entirely sure about the flavor being an “old fashioned” though.

This fell a little flat for us. Expected a bit more booziness based on the description.

A crisp, sweet, and complex cherry-forward cider with a touch of orange peel. Delicious, and a faithful adaptation of the classic cocktail.
