About This Beer
To create it, the California crew aged their burly Barleywine base for a full year in Buffalo Trace and Heaven Hill bourbon barrels.
Tasting Notes
The 14.5% ABV behemoth oozes aromas of candied nuts and sticky toffee. You’ll taste creamy caramel, sweet vanilla, and honeyed oak. A whisper of barrel char flirts with the palate on the finish, enticing you for another full-bodied sip.

Overoaked, nutty, boozy bitterness conflicts with sweet malt toffee flavors.

Semisweet bourbon soaked caramel in bottle. What’s not to love? Barleywine is life!

Olde English is still Old Reliable! Damn tasty as ever, toffee caramel creaminess matched perfectly with deliciously hard hitting bourbon barrel boozy notes, tons of vanilla from the barrel, nutty sweetness melted together to make barleywine s'mores. Yum

great base beer, but took me to tannic town. toffee was there, but oak is reminiscent of a 90s California Chardonnay, just too much.

Once again this beer is phenomenal!!! Oak, toffee, vanilla, carmel, booze, etc. So good. Love this beer. I have one more and hope I can hold out and age it for a few years.

It is INCREDIBLE! You can taste all the boasted flavors with all the right proportions. The pecan is very subtle, which I think is a good thing. If I see this again, I may have to get more.

Lovely aromas of toffee, caramel and dark fruit. Medium to thick body. Some faint boozy heat going on. Malt sweetness is well done. Even better as it warms.

I was really looking forward to this and I am not disappointed. I love the light oak flavor and nuttiness I get with each sip which then turns into a warm, gentle, toffee. I feel like I could drink it while writing a book in a cabin deep in the woods.

Still a big fan of this balanced bad boy.

Toffee with a big barrel presence in both flavor and heat. One of the better barley wines I’ve had.

Loved it. Nice and sweet. Vanilla, caramel and toffee dominated. Not as boozy as you'd expect, either.

yep 👍🏻 a great BA Barleywine, all the expected flavors are present. Sweetness is tempered by the barrel character while maintaining the toffee and fig notes we all love.
