A Note on This Beer
Plan Bee Farmhouse Brewery is all about local. Local flavors, local ingredients, local yeasts — everything about their beers screams New York State.
That’s why USA Today says their beers are “the closest thing to tasting a sense of New York terroir available on the market.”
Today’s Buckbee is no exception. The brewers crafted this dark and strong Farmhouse Ale with roasted barley and toasted rye and oats for malty complexity with hints of candied dates and dark chocolate. But, it also features local honey for a touch of sweetness that balances against the tart forces of mixed fermentation.
As if that isn’t enough, they aged this beauty in locally-sourced Rye Whiskey barrels from Coppersea Distilling — one of the few distilleries in the country that actually malts their own local grains.
The Rye barrels add hints of vanilla and caramel along with a touch of peppery spice, creating yet another layer of complexity that early Untappd tasters love.
As @Krista M. put it: “Such a unique beer! Tart, yet sweet, yet malty!”
If you want to try it, you’d better act fast. We have just 240 bottles of Buckbee to share with the entire country! It won’t last long.
This beer is too new for ratings!
