About This Beer
This dark and genre-defying collaboration between Smog City Brewing and Moonlight Meadery won two gold medals at the 2021 Mead Crafters Competition!
The team crafted this intriguing beer-mead hybrid using 500 lbs of honey in the vat before aging the inky elixir in bourbon barrels.
Tasting Notes
Its marriage with the casks’ spicy whiskey and mellow oak creates a scrumptious combination of layered tones. Marshmallow nuances and roasty, chocolatey malt harmonize with notes of silky vanilla from the barrels. And each quaff of the full-bodied, 12.9% ABV sipper finishes with a lingering honeyed sweetness that will leave you yearning for more.

Good overall stout. No true honey profile present. Light for the abv, but enjoyable.

it’s tasty no doubt however the
honey is very raw in flavor. if your thinking it would add sweetness… nope. that combined with the very oaky presence leaves a dry tannin mouthfeel.
