A Note on This Beer
Once upon a time, just outside the quaint town of Newcastle, Maine, there lay a brewery within an enchanted forest. Inside, clusters of tiny elves worked day and night to create the most delicious Farmhouse Ales in all the land.
OK, so maybe Oxbow Brewing Company isn’t actually run by tiny elves. But, each taste of Catalyst, their barrel-aged Bière de Miel, is just as magical.
Oxbow brewed and bottle-conditioned this mixed-culture ale with raw wildflower honey, and barrel-aged it in French Oak for 11 months. Each tart, effervescent sip is laced with a subtle, mouthwatering sweetness!
Aromas of freshly-baked bread, newly-mown hay and rich, dense oak captivate the nose, while flavors of ripe apricots, juicy peaches and orange marmalade entrance the tongue. It’s all wrapped up with the taste of floral honey and the scintillating tang of lemon zest.
Oxbow’s beautiful brews like this one are causing a stir throughout the craft kingdom. Hop Culture declares, “[Oxbow has] established themselves as one of the most highly regarded and well-respected producers [of Farmhouse Ales] not just in the state, but their whole region!”
Ale lovers from far and wide travel to Oxbow’s Portland and Oxford, ME taprooms for a taste of their magical elixirs. Fortunately, you don’t have to go on a quest for Catalyst. Let the trailblazers at Tavour guide you to a funkified farmhouse fantasy.
