A Note on This Beer

A good French pastry shop is as close to Nirvana as most sweet-toothed foodies will ever come.

It’s hard to argue with shelf after shelf of fluffy sponge cakes topped with crumbled nuts and gooey chocolate, all of it covered with rich, vanilla-infused Chantilly Cream frosting. Even the very best stateside bakeries don’t quite measure up!

Fortunately for us sweet-toothed craft fans, the crew at Nebraska’s White Elm Brewing captured the flavors and aromas of a Parisian pastry shop in their Chantilly Cake Imperial Stout.

To create it, they first crafted a rich Stout replete with flavors of chocolate and espresso. Then, they added cacao nibs to amp up the fudge factor, a ribbon of creamy-smooth vanilla, a sprinkle of tropical coconut, and topped it off with decadent macadamia nuts.

Finally, they imbued the brew with real marshmallows for a thick, chewy mouthfeel.

With a can or two of Chantilly Cake in the fridge, you can take your tastebuds on a French vacation anytime you like. Tell ‘em to pack their bags.

*HEADS UP from the brewers — always chill before opening to avoid any sticky spillovers! White Elm intentionally fills all their cans to the brim and highly carbonates them for your enjoyment.

With Tavour, it's easy to beer it forward! Just head over to Tavour.com/gifts to send a gift box or gift card to the craft beer lover in your life. Cheers!

Amazing! Nothing was overpowering. Not too heavy or sweet. Love the initial hit of coconut and the subtle hints of coco. This beer finishes off perfectly. Definitely wish I ordered more.

Initial first taste is heavy chocolate w/ a hint of coconut. The after taste is a great smooth coconut cake w/ a burnt marshmallow glaze. Has a hint of a Bourbon aromatic.

Very coconut forward. Straight from the can the nose is heavy on the coconut with traces of chocolate and vanilla intertwined. Taste is coconut into a beautiful medley of chocolate vanilla with some sweet nuttiness from the macadamia heading straight back into coconut on the finish. Great pastry stout without being overly sweet!

The rich dark color is nice. The aroma is perfect, you can smell a cake in this. The taste is nice cake with chocolate, vanilla creamy with a touch of a nutty marshmallow. But the after taste is a little downer. It gets strong and bitter, not what I’m used to in a imperial pasty Stout beer. It’s good, just the after taste takes you somewhere else.

Pretty good overall. It's a good thick beer, with roasty marshmallow and coconut flavor. I like since it their other stouts I've had a bit more, but this is still pretty solid

Ten out of five. Nailed the cake flavor...with ice cream and a shot of bourbon on top. Not sickly sweet, either. Pure gluttony.

Very sweet and something comes off rather artificial .. not sure if it’s from the macadamia nuts or what. Rather disappointed with this one.

Very complex on the nose. Cocoa, nuts, and marshmallow on the palate. Soft and sweet. Complex. Goooooooood.

Felt like more than a sprinkle of coconut to me, which left me feeling a bit sweetened out. Good for a pairing though

Thick, dark, and heavy in all the right ways for a stout. Super sweet, so the colder the better for the most enjoyment

Strong but balanced out beautifully with its sweetness. The combination of the chocolate, coconut & macadamia gives the flavor profile of Hawaiian chocolate candies or an Almond Joy. Creaminess from the marshmallow. Perfect dessert beer. Two Thumbs Up!

A little too coconut forward for me, but man did they nail the dessert flavor. This is the epitome of a dessert beer. Tastes just like eating a cake, but not sickly sweet, but yeah a little too coconut forward for my tastes.

White elm has been hit or miss for me, but they nailed this one. Well done: big beer that sips like a desert without being too too sweet. They dialed back the coconut on this one compared to some of the others: it's still there but not nearly as obnoxious.

This was far today sweet. Pastry stouts need balance and this one is as straight chocolate and sugar.
