A Note on This Beer

Today’s chocolate and raspberry sundae-sour-slushy made me rethink my definition of thick.

Drekker’s Chonk with Blueberry, Black Currant & Marshmallow sports a majestic 4.46 Untappd rating by going beyond regular beer-thick into real ice cream milkshake-thick territory!

It’s not just the Untappd-heads going nuts for Chonk. The last time Tavour featured a brew from this series, members scored it an equally stunning 4.57 — and you guys are usually super stingy with the high scores!

This dessert slushy is Instagram gold waiting to happen. It’s the type of beer I pour into a milkshake glass, poke in two straws, and split its melted Häagen Dazs and Smucker’s jam flavors with my sweetheart.

Into it? Then snap a selfie while you’re at it — the world needs to see us living our best lives. Maybe even wipe a little on your cutie’s nose and pretend they just won a pie-eating contest.

Absolutely delicious I wish I got more then 3. Such a dark red color and was nice and thicccc. Probably my favorite beer I got. Drekker is my favorite beer brand anything they drop is fire.

Tangy, grapey flavor strong initially. Then tang is overtaken by sweet marshmallow flavor. Not sour at all; it's rich, luxurious.

Cannot believe this came from a Dakota. Thick like a stout, but tart like a sour. Almost more of a cocktail than an actual beer. Blueberry, black currant, marshmallow? Check, check, check. And yet, the present tartness keeps this one from becoming sickly sweet. A win for me.

What can i say? This beer is marked sour due to the brewing process used. It's delicious and sweet with a hint of tart only. Pretty amazing.

It's blackberry and marshmallow pureed. Yes it's like a liquid sunday but it lacks any beer character. Also, it's not sour due to the overwhelming sweetness. It's just not a beer. Maybe a canned mixed drink.

If you want a sour ale, this isn’t sour at all. The marshmallow and lactose sugar make this a sweet brew. So many breweries in the past 3 years are obsessed with using milk sugar. It sometimes helps the texture. However, it also can add a ton of sweetness. Meh

Not really like a beer but it is amazing, an intense sweetness with just a hint of sour. Not something I could drink more than one a sitting but as an after dinner drink it is a great choice.
