A Note on This Beer
Pete Oates of Equilibrium Brewery is basically a mad beer scientist. Like a hop-obsessed Dr. Frankenstein. He even holds a PH.D from MIT!
His scientific expertise allows him to stitch together monstrously juicy brews from the simplest ingredients. Like today’s Fractal Vic Secret — made with nothing but two row barley, 100% Vic Secret Hops, water, and yeast.
From the first taste, fresh-squeezed OJ flavors flash across the palate like lightning, followed by rumbling notes of grapefruit, passionfruit, and mango. Earthy resin and hints of pine slowly rise from the ultra-smooth finish, lingering long after the sip.
Lucky tasters call it “really dank,” saying “it doesn’t get better than this!” And that’s how people have reacted to Equilibrium beers from the very beginning.
When Pete ditched his career as an engineer to open his brewery, New York craft fans practically stormed the place like villagers surrounding Frankenstein’s castle. According to Pete, “when we first started canning, we’d open the doors in the morning, and there would be 300 people waiting for our beer!”
This is only the second time Equilibrium has released Fractal Vic Secret. Pete even flew to Australia to pick out the finest hops himself, just so he could bring them back to his beer lab for Fractal!
