A Note on This Beer
Washingtonians load up their camping gear and trek to the Columbia River Gorge for summer music festivals. And lately, road-trippers started making a pit stop in nearby Washougal for a taste of some small town beers that are making a BIG impact.
Logsdon Farmhouse Ales is putting Washougal on the map for their wild and funky brews, garnishing glowing awards from GABF and World Beer Cup!
Today, we’re lucky enough to share a few cans of Funk Soul Bretta Saison (2020). The brewers created it to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Imperial Bottle Shop and Taproom, their friendly neighbors across the river.
The shop owners are huge fans of Logsdon’s peach-infused Peche n’ Brett, so the brewers decided to whip up a new beer, just for them!
The Logsdon crew fermented today’s Saison with their house mixed-culture and conditioned it with second-use fruit from Peche n’ Brett, allowing the peach essence to really seep into this fresh and exciting sipper.
Crack open a can, and you’ll taste the juicy flavors of peaches wrapped in tangy citrus and coated with barnyard funk. Each effervescent sip provides a pleasant pucker of tart green grapes, ripe pears, and crisp white wine.
Luckily, you don’t have to drive out to southeastern Washington to get your hands on this summertime refresher. Impress your buddies at the next bottle share by adding this juicy Saison to the lineup. Wild and Sour lovers alike will clamor to taste this funkified brew!
