Once a year, the brewers at Gigantic unearth their barrels of opulently aged Barleywine. Mobs of Oregon craft fans swarm to get their hands on any mouthwatering variants they can!

Luckily, we were able to land just under 20 cases of today’s Bourbon Barrel Aged variant! While this year’s vintage is too new for ratings, last year’s BBA MASSIVE! boasted an enormous 4.29 UT rating!

To craft it, Gigantic started by brewing a huge Barleywine with just one malt, Skagit Wintmalt, letting it boil for over eight hours to create a chewy, rich, ruby-hued brew. Then they aged it in Bourbon barrels for luxurious accents of woody spice and whiskey vanilla. 

Decadent currents of sugary dates, golden caramel, and bright oak course through each sip. Swirls of crème brûlée carry after until a gorgeous, tannic whiskey finish. 

Oregon fans aren’t the only ones clamoring for this brew. The last time we shared MASSIVE! with you, it sold out in just a few hours! Those looking to indulge in an opulent, 14.3% ABV Barleywine might want to act quick or risk waiting a full year for another shot at this celebrated release!
