Every year, Gigantic Brewing releases multiple deep and roasty renditions of their beloved Most Premium Russian Imperial Stout. Each variant is aged and fine-tuned through months in hand-selected whiskey barrels, and they’re normally only available in Oregon, Washington, and California.

So, every year we try to get our hands on one of them for Tavour. But this year, something incredible happened — for the first time ever, we managed to snag THREE different variants!

Most MOST Premium Bourbon Barrel Aged (2021) - 12% ABV

To capture the warming layers of oaky vanilla, caramel, and cocoa in this brew, the Gigantic crew blended beers that were aged in Buffalo Trace and Woodford Reserve Bourbon Barrels. Every sip allows you to sink into nuances of baking spice, molasses, and tanned leather, and it only becomes more mellow if you stash it in the cellar.

Most MOST Premium Rye Barrel Aged (2021) - 12% ABV

Aged in American Rye Whiskey Barrels, this variant delivers woody cinnamon flavors mingled with earthy whispers of Mexican chocolate and brown sugar. The boozy warmth is present throughout, making each sip like wrapping yourself in a cozy blanket of craft excellence.

Most MOST Premium Scotch Barrel Aged (2021) - 12% ABV

For this dry and woody variant, the brewers went with top-shelf Islay and Highland Scotch Whiskey Barrels. The finished brew is delightfully complex, with notes of dark chocolate and fresh-ground espresso upfront easing into oaky vanilla, pie spice, and a whiff of clove. Is this variant the most Most MOST Premium of all? You decide!
