About This Beer
Phase Three crafted this brilliant brew on a Hazy IPA base that they made extra creamy with a splash of lactose. Then they blended in coconut, pineapple, vanilla, and ube — a Filipino yam with a delectable nutty, vanilla-like flavor and natural purple color.

what an interesting beer! it’s maybe a bit too sweet for me, but still delicious. the color is amazing and tastes like vanilla sweet potatoes.

I’m not sure if I lived and hated this. flavor is incredible, but it feels exactly like a milk shake. awesome purple color

I LOVE Ube and the Ube flavor was good but it was too thick and sweet. You wouldn’t know it was an IPA.

thick and frothy, lots of bits had to strain into the glass but the flavor was fantastic. bright opaque purple and an almost marshmallow finish

I was really excited for this beer, because it sounded amazing...but it unfortunately landed far from my expectations. I will typically try just about any beer, and I rarely will let one go to waste, but this is one of only a handful of beers I actually poured down the drain because I just couldn't stomach it. I thought it'd be sweet and smooth, but it was bitter + odd tasting. I'm a huge coconut fan, so I'm going to assume ube is just not for me. Or maybe it would be better used in a stout?
