About This Beer
The fifth batch of a yearly collaboration between Plan Bee and their friends at Rose Hill Farm, less than 25 miles up the road.
The brewery’s flagship Barn Beer makes up the base. It begins with a blend of 6-row, red wheat, and malted barley coolshipped to collect ambient microflora. Then the crew ferments it in oak with yeasts cultured from their own hives’ honeycomb.
Finally, they conditioned the bright sipper with Rose Hill’s biodynamic peaches and strawberries.
Tasting Notes
It smells like a strawberry field, with sun-warmed fruit aromas overlaying the scent of dried grass and wildflowers. On the sip, the stone fruit flourishes amid the earthy tones, beginning with a mild tartness, blooming into juicy flesh, and finishing with a tannic touch like the part of the peach closest to the pit.
