About This Beer
The Bruery is blowing my mind with this Bourbon Barrel Aged Barleywine! They brewed it with maple syrup, then played up the decadence with additions of candy cap mushrooms — a shroom known for its maple-like sweetness.
Tasting Notes
The unique adjunct works incredibly well here, providing pronounced notes of syrup-drenched flapjacks topped with vanilla frosting and caramel sauce. Meanwhile, exquisite hints of whiskey-oak that linger after the full-bodied finish are the only hint of the big 14.9% ABV.
