A Note on This Beer

I totally get why The Brewing Projekt calls their pastry-inspired Sour series Shove It.

One silky mouthful of today’s Blackberry Lemon Imperial Sour edition, and I’d like to keep all its jammy berry, citrus-zested tartlet flavors to myself. Everyone else can shove it!

Sounds harsh, I know, but much as I want all of my Sour-loving friends to taste this cobbler-esque delight, its layered tangy-sweetness is too sippable to put down. The brewers stuffed it full of blackberries, lemons, and cinnamon, plus a dose of crust-like graham cracker flavor!

And, while the booze is cleverly hidden beneath all that fresh-baked goodness, I do feel that 8.8% ABV warming me up to the idea of sharing.

Sure, I won’t actually tell anyone to “Shove It” if they reach for a sip from my stash. However, unless they’re quick enough to score a supply of their own from Tavour, I will politely suggest they go up to Eau Claire, Wisconsin and hope The Brewing Projekt still has some cans left!

The trip this beer take you on is a wild one. It starts with a turn of tart, the lemon juice hitting your mouth full force, followed by a rush of blackberry, graham cracker, and just the slightest hint of cinnamon. You won't want two of these in a row, but you'll live the one you had.

I REALLY loved how the lemon crept up on u at the end of each tasting note. Like a blackberry pie with a little bit of lemon drizzle at the end of each sip!

Nice aromas. The berry and lemon flavors are forward with the cinnamon and graham flavors following. Not too sour. The lemon adds a bit of pithy bitterness. Wish it had some richness to round out the pie feel.

Delicious. Just the right amount of cinnamon and graham cracker to round out the sour of blackberry and lemon.

Very interesting flavor. A bit on the tart side from the combination of the blackberry and lemon. But balanced out nicely with that cinnamon and graham cracker taste that really gives it a mouthfeel similar to a slice of pie. 1.5 Thumbs up!

Cinnamon on the nose. Blackberry gives a nice flavor, but the other flavors don’t really mix well. Lots of sediment in the can too.

It’s a decent sweet sour and higher alcohol. I would not call the fast taste blackberry or pie, but you definitely get the lemon.

Nice and refreshing. This tastes like a sugarless blackberry pie… as it should. Somehow the accurate taste and light hints of lime and cinnamon give this great character.

Very good, tastes like pie!! I stored my can upside down, so I was hit pretty hard with lemon at first, but as it settled the flavors all blended super well!

I like how bold this mix is - some sips I get blackberry pie, others tart lemon. Pretty smooth for 8.8%, the sediment was a little off putting at first.

Literally liquified blackberry lemon pie in a can with some carbonation! Exquisite comes to mind while consuming this! Wish I had got more than 1 can!

Sour but reminds me of a cheap malt drink. Blackberry and lemon flavors are there also cinnamon and graham noticeable. It all sounds better than it actually tastes
