A Note on This Beer

I’m OBSESSED with tropical Skittles.

As we speak, I have a king-size pack of the lip-puckering candy stashed away in my Subaru, ready to open anytime I’m feeling like a little treat.

Although, that secret stash won’t be necessary now that I have lemon-lime blasted cans of Sippin’ & Forgettin’ in my fridge. This tropically-twisted Berliner Weisse tastes JUST like my all-time favorite candy with an added layer of toasted-coconut complexity!

The brew candy-makers at Modist stuffed each batch with real toasted coconut, Meyer lemon, Madagascar vanilla beans, and silky milk sugar. With every tantalizing sip, rivers of citrus flavors tango alongside refreshing gusts of sumptuous coconut and lush whipped cream. On the finish, a tart bite from the Berliner base begs another smooth swig.

With indulgent flavors like that, it's no wonder the masterminds at Modist sport medals from both the Great American Beer Festival and the Minnesota Brewer’s Cup.

It's nice and light, it's a real easy drinker. And it has a decent taste, but there's something off about it. And I just can't quite put my finger on it.

I know it says coconut as a flavor mentioned, but I don’t taste any.

Most of the reason I cannot rate this higher is because it really didn’t hit what the tasting notes mentioned. closer to a lemon pound cake than anything taste wise. The reason I cannot rate it lower than this is it was still a great beer.

Nice and light. Tastes like lemon pound cake but not as dry. Something is just off with the flavor though. Its like something is missing. You can hardly taste the coconut but honestly coconut and lemon do not go together.

Vaguely reminiscent of a Savannah Smile wish it balanced the lemon a little better. Acidity reallly plays a part on this one.

A thin sour that is pretty much all lemon. I get a hint of coconut at the end, but that is it. More original Berliner weisse than what I have come to expect from a typical sour.

The name of this beer for some reason enhances the flavor and experience overall, you lose yourself easily drinking this with how smooth and delicious this beer is, bold and sweet coconut mixed with tart lemon.The only thing I could ask for is if it had a touch more of sweetness other than that this is a perfect summer or a barbecue beer
